About The Position

Performance Contracting Group is hiring a laborer to support demolition, abatement, and construction projects. The role involves assisting carpenters and other construction workers, preparing work areas, moving materials and equipment, assembling and disassembling temporary structures, and keeping job sites clean and safe. On-the-job training is offered. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and working outside.
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters by holding and securing lumber and ensuring it is level or plumb during installation.
• Assist with building forms for pouring concrete.
• Prepare work areas by transporting tools and equipment from storage.
• Load and unload building materials for construction projects.
• Build and disassemble scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures on construction sites.
• Remove debris and potential hazards to keep construction sites clean and safe.
• Dig trenches and holes needed for construction projects.
• Keep machines serviced.
• Follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and carpenters.
