Laborer - Part Time (Parks Maintenance)
About The Position
The City of Moreno Valley's Parks and Community Services Department is recruiting for Part-Time Laborers. This position performs routine grounds and facility maintenance under close supervision. Key duties include cleaning restrooms and park areas, preparing athletic fields, operating small tools and equipment, picking up litter, emptying trash, securing facilities, and assisting with the setup of recreation programs. This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and may include weekend or holiday shifts. It offers hands-on experience in park maintenance and support for community services.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or G.E.D equivalent
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Comfortable performing outdoor physical labor
- Follow instructions well
- Work independently
- Provide friendly customer service to park visitors and program participants
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience performing similar groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance work
- Operating small power tools
- Using lawn and landscape equipment
- Applying safe cleaning practices
- Previous experience in landscaping maintenance, especially in the Public Sector
