About The Position

The Laborer Journeyman assists skilled craft workers with their assigned duties and performs physical labor at construction sites. The position requires the ability to perform a variety of tasks in construction and industrial environments while following instructions and prioritizing safety.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Possess strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Be proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
• Be able to move about a construction or industrial site and stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
• Be able to work in changing outdoor weather conditions and in noisy, dusty, confined, cluttered, or uneven environments.
• Be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; access equipment or work areas using ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolds, potentially at heights exceeding 200 feet.
• Be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site.
• Have the required tools.
• May require a U.S. driver's license.
• Be able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftspeople in setting up work as required.
• Follow instructions from superintendents, foremen, and other experienced crew members.
• Perform required duties with safety as the first priority.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Read and understand warning signs, equipment operating instructions, jobsite safety rules, and jobsite policies.
• Learn to observe installed equipment or systems in operation to identify hazards.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
