About The Position

Assist skilled craft workers with their assigned duties and perform physical labor at construction sites. The position involves a variety of tasks in construction and industrial environments, with safety as the first priority. The worker follows direction from superintendents, foremen, and experienced crew members; helps set up work; maintains orderly work areas; and learns to identify hazards by observing installed equipment and systems.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Must have the required tools.
• May require a U.S. driver's license.
• Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site, if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftspeople in setting up work as required.
• Follow instructions from superintendents, foremen, and other experienced crew members.
• Perform required duties with safety as the first focus.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Read and understand warning signs, equipment operating instructions, jobsite safety rules, and jobsite policies.
• Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
