About The Position

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer Journeyman responsible for preparing, handling, and supplying materials used by other crafts. The role involves construction-site labor, including handling equipment and materials, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, tending and moving mortar and grout, cleaning debris, and placing and vibrating concrete. The position also provides work direction and guidance to Laborer I and II employees, Helpers, and Apprentices. Duties may change without notice and may include other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program.
Construction experience is preferred.
Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, attention to detail, active listening skills, and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.
Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Loads over 50 lbs. are handled with assistance from another team member or equipment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employment visa sponsorship; sponsorship is not offered.

Responsibilities

Load and unload equipment.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
Level ground for scaffolding.
Tend mortar and grout.
Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
Clean and clear debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris.
Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
Vibrate concrete.
Provide work direction and guidance to Laborer I and II employees, Helpers, and Apprentices.
Work effectively and build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
