About The Position
The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is seeking seasonal Laborers to support high-profile events and perform general conservation and maintenance work in the Boston Region. This position is crucial for delivering exceptional visitor experiences during major statewide and international events, including Tall Ships 2026, Massachusetts 250 (MA250) commemorations, FIFA World Cup Watch Parties, and other large-scale public gatherings. The DCR oversees nearly half a million acres of land, focusing on nurturing the vital connection between people and the environment by protecting, promoting, and enhancing natural, cultural, and recreational resources. The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA), DCR's parent organization, aims to protect, preserve, and enhance Massachusetts’ environmental resources, create a clean energy future, and advance sustainability and environmental justice for all residents.
Requirements
- No Minimum Entrance Requirements.
- May be required to possess a current and valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License (based on assignment).
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with a variety of duties in connection with conservation and maintenance work including, but not limited to, grounds and facility maintenance work including cleaning restrooms and other site buildings, cutting grass, raking leaves, watering, rubbish removal, beautification of parks, campgrounds, and reservations, beaches and facilities.
- May be expected to use a variety of hand tools.
- May operate motor vehicles and light trucks including loading and unloading of supplies, equipment, etc.
- Greet and assist park visitors and provide information about the facility.
- Based on assignment, collect fees.
- Perform other related duties as required.
