About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Technologist - Generalist to conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens across several laboratory areas, including Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Microbiology. The technologist performs quality control procedures as required by policy, documents all results, and follows up on out-of-range results. This is a full-time evening-shift position, working 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at the Allen campus in Upper Manhattan/Inwood. The schedule includes alternate weekends and rotating holidays.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or an equivalent curriculum.
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education Department.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP certification.
- At least two years of experience as a Laboratory Technologist in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Microbiology.
- Perform quality control procedures for tests as dictated by policy.
- Document all test results.
