About The Position

This role supports the lab by cleaning plastic bottles and glassware using washers, autoclaves, and dryers. The technician will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products, operating production equipment, and weighing/measuring raw materials to ensure correct ingredients and quantities. The position also involves assisting with in-process testing, validating processes and equipment related to filtration, cleaning, and sterilization, and managing the removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids. The technician will create solutions, powders, and liquids, provide training support, assist the lead/supervisor, and offer continuous improvement recommendations. Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), housekeeping, and safety policies is mandatory. Overtime may be required.

Requirements

  • High school with technical certification in the area of laboratory operations plus 3 years laboratory experience, OR AS degree in a scientific discipline with 2-3 years laboratory experience, OR BS degree in a scientific discipline plus 1-2 years laboratory experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Strong time management skills required.
  • Ability to operate independently.
  • Proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products.
  • Operating production equipment.
  • Weighing, measuring and checking raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.
  • Assisting with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
  • Validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration, cleaning and sterilization.
  • Removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents and acids.
  • Creating solutions, powders, and liquids for batches to meet specifications.
  • Providing training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures.
  • Providing support to the lead/supervisor when necessary.
  • Providing continuous improvement recommendations and/or solutions to support overall operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrating the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Following all Client housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Following all Client safety policies and procedures.
  • Working overtime as required to meet Client business requirements.
