$50 PER HOUR - LAB TECH NEEDED - AUSTIN, TX
About The Position
HOPEWELL STAFFING is sourcing candidates for a Laboratory Technician in the Austin, Texas area. The contractor will provide laboratory services to consumers of the facility. The Laboratory Technician performs various simple laboratory procedures under the supervision of an ASCP-registered medical technologist. The requested schedule is 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The technician will typically work 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, though the shift pattern may change as determined by the Lab Supervisor to meet hospital needs. Candidates must be available for two non-consecutive training days, Day 1 and Day 6, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; additional training can be completed during the normal work schedule. No holiday, after-hours, or weekend shifts are required.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
- Possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Comply with HHSC immunization requirements.
- Submit to the HHSC-required drug test.
- Submit to HHSC-required fingerprinting.
- Complete facility- and HHSC-required training.
Nice To Haves
- One year of full-time phlebotomy work is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
- Perform computer data entry.
- Process and package specimens for transport to a reference laboratory.
- Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures and applicable standards and directives, including Joint Commission guidelines, CMS Standards, TSH Policy and Directives, and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives.
- Perform simple laboratory procedures under the supervision of an ASCP-registered medical technologist.
