About The Position

Geocomp’s GeoTesting Express (GTX) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its Lab Team in Acton, Massachusetts. This is an opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to begin a career in geotechnical testing, gaining hands-on experience with automated testing equipment, advanced processes, and projects supporting site characterization, geotechnical design, quality control, and performance assessment.

The technician will work with a team of laboratory professionals providing geotechnical testing services. The role offers training and support, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement in a collaborative laboratory environment. Work takes place in a standard indoor laboratory, with occasional field testing at construction sites.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Organized and adaptable, with a willingness to learn new laboratory techniques.
• No prior laboratory experience is required; full training will be provided.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, bend, and stand for extended periods at a lab bench or workstation.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework or exposure to earth sciences, geology, civil engineering, or environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on soil, rock, and geosynthetics.
• Collect, record, and report test data accurately and with attention to detail.
• Assist with laboratory projects and daily operations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
• Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and process compliance.
