About The Position

Yosemite Pathology (YP) is a private independent pathologist-owned and operated surgical pathology and cytology laboratory based in Modesto, CA. YP provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art, reliable, and accurate diagnostic services to physicians and major area hospitals. The laboratory offers a full spectrum of tissue pathology, cytology, and histology services, including examination of gynecologic specimens, body fluids, and fine needle aspiration specimens. They also offer an extensive array of special stains and immunohistochemistry. The laboratory is supported by highly qualified Histotechnologists, Cytologists, Technicians, and office staff who offer excellent service.

Responsibilities

Perform daily case assignment and distribution to Pathologists, including both digital and glass slides.
Handle all block and slide label corrections.
Digitize all slides being sent to Digital Pathologists, including performing slide scanner maintenance and digital slide quality control.
Prepare all glass slides for delivery to their respective assigned Pathologists/locations.
Perform glass slide and block quality control.
Maintain block storage, including daily filing and retrieval.
Perform daily cleanup of the work area in the Checkout Department.
Maintain accurate tracking records of blocks and slides being filed or sent out.
Answer phones and respond to all email communications directed to the Department.
Other duties as assigned.
