About The Position
Bureau Veritas Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their environmental laboratory in Montreal or Ste-Foy, QC. This is a contract position until Mid-December, with a possibility of extension based on business needs and performance. The role involves general laboratory support, sample preparation, and ensuring accuracy and quality of work.
Requirements
- Diploma in science
- At least academic experience in a laboratory setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
- Dynamic, energetic, motivated and have a positive outlook.
Responsibilities
- General laboratory support including: washing glassware, archiving samples, weighing, homogenizing, etc.
- Perform simple sample preparation and manipulation procedures prior to analyses.
- Ensure that cross contamination between samples and other materials does not occur.
- Use summary reports to plan and organize work.
- Ensure that deadlines are met.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Other related tasks.
