About The Position

The Laboratory Technician I supports laboratory operations by preparing and processing tissue and blood specimens, performing histology procedures, conducting quality control activities, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role plays an important part in delivering high-quality laboratory services while adhering to established quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a biological or health science discipline
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work accurately in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read technical documents, protocols, safety procedures, and laboratory records written in English

Nice To Haves

  • Previous laboratory experience in histology, pathology, life sciences, or a related field
  • Experience handling blood, bone marrow, or tissue specimens
  • Familiarity with H&E staining, IHC preparation, or FFPE sample processing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of GCP, GDP, or GLP guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble tissue specimens, slides, and blocks for sectioning and staining
  • Label, organize, and perform quality control checks on slides and related materials
  • Perform histology procedures, including H&E staining, FFPE slide processing, coverslipping, and sample preparation for immunohistochemistry (IHC)
  • Process blood and bone marrow specimens according to established SOPs and study protocols
  • Prepare reagents and solutions following approved laboratory procedures
  • Accurately document laboratory activities and enter specimen data into tracking systems and spreadsheets
  • Monitor laboratory inventory and assist with ordering supplies and receiving materials
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and support preventive maintenance activities
  • Maintain organized laboratory records, archives, and documentation
  • Follow all laboratory quality, safety, and compliance requirements
  • Support additional laboratory and administrative activities as required
