About The Position

EXP is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support laboratory testing operations associated with roadway and heavy civil infrastructure projects. The technician will assist with sample preparation, testing, documentation, and general laboratory operations involving soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete materials. This position is intended for individuals interested in beginning a career in construction materials engineering and testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma, trade school certificate, or equivalent.
• Hold or actively pursue at least one of the following certifications: ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician; ACI Laboratory Concrete Testing Technician (Level 1); ACI Aggregate Testing Technician (Level 1); or NICET Level 1 in Construction Materials Testing (Soils, Concrete, or Asphalt).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in laboratory and warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct standard laboratory tests, including sieve analysis, moisture-density relationships (Proctors), plastic limits, and concrete compressive strength tests.
• Identify, log, organize, store, and properly dispose of material samples received from the field.
• Thoroughly document testing raw numbers and prepare accurate, legible data sheets or electronic logs.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and workstations, and assist with routine calibration checks.
• Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to laboratory safety policies and Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines.
