We are currently seeking a passionate individual who is eager to make a difference in a dynamic healthcare environment. Supervises the daily operations of the technical section(s) including work assignments, problem resolution, technical development and procedure implementation, inventory and purchasing. Performs evaluations and monitors competencies of technical staff. Ensures procedures and methods are performed according to section protocol and that quality assurance standards are met. Provides technical expertise in the use, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of all laboratory instruments, equipment and reagents. Performs routine and specialized procedures as necessary and assumes further operational responsibility in absence of manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology; Or Bachelor Degree in a physical, chemical or biological science and 5 years experience/training as a Med Technol; OR 90 semester hours of science and completion of an AHCA approved training program.
• Minimum of five years experience as a Medical Technologist is required.
• Must possess a current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in the appropriate lab area or be eligible for a temporary license.
• Temporary licensure must be permanent within one year of accepting position; if not the position is automatically forfeited.
• Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver'

Nice To Haves

• one year in a lead or supervisory position is preferred.
• ASCP certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise and support for hospital laboratories.
• Provides direct technical supervision to technical staff.
• Oversees quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement activities for the technical section(s).
• Performs administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by manager.
