About The Position

ATI is seeking a Lab Tech 5 (Chemistry) for its Monroe, NC facility. The role is part of an analytical process that verifies products meet industry and customer chemistry specifications. The technician samples metal materials and tests them according to specific protocols. The position requires good reasoning, the ability to read and carry out complex technical procedures, and careful attention to detail.

This is a night-shift position from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule: work two days, take two days off, work three days, take two days off, work two days, then take three days off. Training is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Good reasoning skills.
• Ability to read and carry out complex technical procedures.
• Good attention to detail.
• Math skills, including decimals, fractions, rounding, averaging, and recognizing number patterns.
• Time management skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Measuring skills.
• Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Two-year technical degree.
• Advanced high school education in Chemistry.
• One year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Take samples of metal material and test them using specific protocols.
• Prepare samples by hand polishing or using a small drill press.
• Break down, reassemble, and calibrate the machine to verify the sample.
• Enter results into the LIM System.
• File samples in the designated retention area.
• Ensure products meet industry and customer chemistry specifications.
