About The Position

Sentara Health is hiring a laboratory support technician to work full time, day shifts in the Anatomic Pathology Lab at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. As a laboratory support technician (LST), duties include preparing specimens for result/interpretation by technical staff and performing instrument maintenance and inventory functions per operating procedures. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (required)
  • Histology Lab candidates with a Bachelor of Science in general studies with 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) in biology and chemistry will qualify
  • No certification or licensure required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare specimens per discipline operating procedure for result/interpretation by technical staff
  • Perform instrument maintenance and inventory functions per operating procedures
