Laboratory Support Specialist - (ALT)
About The Position
ARL Bio Pharma provides analytical and microbiological testing for the pharmaceutical industry, serving pharmaceutical companies, compounding and hospital pharmacies, drug manufacturers, and raw material suppliers. The Laboratory Support Specialist works collaboratively with Chemists and performs essential support tasks to help ensure efficient sample testing. The company provides training, and no prior experience is necessary. This full-time position operates in a laboratory environment on a schedule of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees must follow quality and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Due to the nature of the work, medical marijuana cards are not permitted, and employees are subject to random drug testing.
Requirements
- High school diploma and at least 2 years of work experience, or an associate degree in chemistry or a related science field, or a bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related science field.
- Communication proficiency.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively toward team goals.
- Ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database applications.
- Ability to wear, maintain, and properly use safety equipment.
Nice To Haves
- An associate degree in chemistry or a related science field is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations while performing assigned duties.
- Follow written and oral instructions.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and mobile phases required for testing.
- Perform timely peer review of laboratory notebooks.
- Manage samples, including retrieval, storage, and disposal.
- Work independently while sharing ideas and contributing to team goals.
- Use a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database applications.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Prioritize and plan multiple work activities with varying deadlines and complexities.
- Wear, maintain, and properly use appropriate safety equipment, including eye protection, gloves, and a lab coat.
