Laboratory Service Engineer 3
About The Position
As a Laboratory Service Engineer at Lam, you maintain and upgrade equipment in an applications lab, performing hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of state-of-the-art equipment. You support innovative equipment through installation and documentation and contribute to concept and feasibility hardware that enhances current semiconductor equipment and develops next-generation equipment for customers. The role operates in an R&D environment and involves working with prototype equipment and cross-functional teams, including process development, hardware, and software engineering. It also requires safe handling of hazardous gas and liquid materials using required personal protective equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5 or more years of experience; or an associate degree in a technical field or equivalent military training and 7 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent work experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, electromechanical, fluidic, and vacuum systems.
- Proficiency using a variety of hand tools and electronic test equipment for maintenance, repair, and assembly.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing personal protective equipment or a cleanroom suit.
- Semiconductor industry experience or understanding of Lam products.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibrations on equipment in an R&D environment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and vacuum equipment.
- Safely handle hazardous gas and liquid materials using required personal protective equipment.
- Partner with process development, hardware, and software engineering teams on R&D activities, customer demonstrations, and equipment support.
- Install and support prototype equipment and develop procedures and documentation.
- Maintain alignment on priorities across varied tasks through clear and proactive communication.
