About The Position
The Laboratory Section Head is responsible for the technical operations of a laboratory section, including test development, quality control, preventive maintenance, inventory, troubleshooting, and workflow. The role also performs the duties of a Medical Technologist, Cytotechnologist, or Histotechnologist as required by the section’s duties.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Medical Technology (MT) with MT (ASCP) certification; bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology with CT (ASCP) certification; or associate or bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology with HT (ASCP) certification.
- Three years of experience in a laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical operations of a laboratory section.
- Perform test development and quality control.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and manage inventory.
- Troubleshoot laboratory issues and manage workflow.
- Perform Medical Technologist, Cytotechnologist, or Histotechnologist duties as required by the section.
