About The Position

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Critical Care, is seeking a full-time Intermediate or Senior Laboratory Sciences Professional for a research program investigating the mechanistic drivers of pulmonary vascular diseases across the lifespan and the role of redox signaling in disease. The successful candidate will contribute to laboratory investigations and serve as lab manager in a collaborative, translationally oriented research environment. The position works across in vivo mouse models, cell- and tissue-based assays, and advanced molecular techniques such as flow cytometry, spatial transcriptomics, and single-cell sequencing. The role includes conducting experiments using mouse models of pulmonary hypertension and primary cell culture, along with flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and microscopic analysis. The employee will oversee day-to-day lab operations, ordering and financial records, inspections and equipment servicing, database accuracy, data analysis, project records, and protocol organization. Additional work includes developing laboratory protocols and potentially supervising trainees and onboarding and training new personnel. The position is based onsite in the Research Complex 2 building on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. At the Intermediate level, the employee collaborates with investigators and stakeholders, performs and analyzes experiments, supports sample testing and documentation, manages daily lab operations, provides research animal care as needed, maintains records, assists with compliance and process improvements, develops or modifies laboratory techniques, and trains junior team members. At the Senior level, responsibilities also include developing protocol-specific systems and documentation such as process flows, training manuals, and SOPs; identifying operational-efficiency issues; and providing laboratory science expertise and leadership in study design, oversight, data management and analysis, and manuscript preparation across research activities.
