About The Position

Patient's Choice Laboratory is looking for a detail-oriented, motivated Laboratory Quality & Data Coordinator to join our growing laboratory team. In this role, you'll play an essential part in ensuring laboratory orders are entered correctly, specimens are processed accurately, and quality standards are maintained from start to finish. You'll work closely with both laboratory and operations teams to help deliver timely, reliable patient results while supporting continuous quality improvement throughout the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, science, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Previous medical or clinical laboratory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience with specimen processing, laboratory operations, or medical data entry preferred.
  • Experience working in a production or high-volume environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
  • Able to prioritize work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter, review, validate, and verify laboratory orders within the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Maintain the Patient Service Center (PSC) Laboratory Information System to ensure efficient specimen processing.
  • Review specimens for completeness and identify discrepancies such as missing information, incorrect specimen types, or labeling issues.
  • Understand testing requirements and the relationship between ordered tests and the specimens received.
  • Communicate specimen or order concerns promptly to laboratory staff, leadership, and clients when necessary.
  • Track quality control metrics and assist leadership in maintaining high standards for accuracy and specimen integrity.
  • Help ensure specimen collections and data entry performed by both laboratory and client staff meet quality expectations.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Provide support, guidance, and ongoing training to team members as needed.
  • Assist with special projects, client communications, compliance initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Support department operations by assisting wherever needed to ensure workflow continuity.
  • Meet departmental productivity and accuracy expectations within the first 90 days.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
