About The Position
The Laboratory Lead oversees the workflow and lab functions in our medical clinics. They perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and customer service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS certification
- Strong phlebotomy skills
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential
Nice To Haves
- CMA (AAMA) certification
- 1-2 years in a medical office setting
- Prior training experience
- Knowledge of EMR’s (Medent)
Responsibilities
- Oversees daily operations, ensuring timely and accurate specimen collection and processing.
- Collaborates with and supports team members to ensure a patient-focused approach to care
- Performs clerical duties that drive efficient patient flow
- Facilitates lab and diagnostic tests at the request of the ordering provider
- Handles complex or difficult blood draws, including pediatric, geriatric, and patients with challenging venous access.
- Conducts a review of scheduled patient charts to assist with pre-visit planning
