About The Position

Under minimal supervision, this position maintains and supports the Core Lab Information System, Instrument Interfaces, Information Systems Middleware and acts as a liaison between Core Lab Information System and Epic. Maintain standards to meet all guidelines as written by all regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or the equivalent education, training and experience as defined by the regulations of CLIA
  • 3 years in the use of related information systems and programs
  • Knowledge of intranet and internet system maintenance
  • Skill in ad hoc report writing
  • Skill in written and oral communication
  • Skill in providing customer service
  • Skill in problem troubleshooting and resolution
  • Skill in computer and advanced business and office productivity applications
  • Able to multi-task
  • Certification in medical technology by a recognized certifying agency (such as ASCP) or Industry Certification
  • Some heavy lifting of computer equipment may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains IS middleware (Data Innovations Instrument Manager, TSM and Telcor) files/directories as observed in the middleware interfaces.
  • Provides middleware support and education for better data use to include use of spreadsheets, presentation tools and simple databases.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and resolving user identified system issues in conjunction with IS middleware and Epic health information system.
  • Designs, participates in and assists with all LIS middleware system testing.
  • Maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Provides, where appropriate, customer and user training and system documentation.
  • Creates and updates procedures, competency and training checklists.
  • Lead applicable user groups, implementation teams and actively participate in cross function/module groups or committees.
  • Manages, validates and implements the auto-verification program (rule development) as it applies to both the Instrument Manager, TSM and Epic Information System.
  • Identify areas of improvement and drive for more effective and efficient methods of operation.
  • Assists in development, design and validation of current and new instrument interfaces.
  • Work with cross-functional departments in resolving escalated issues.
