About The Position

Samaritan Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Lab Director to join their team. The laboratory offers outpatient lab testing and analysis at three convenient locations and is CLIA accredited, performing moderate and high complexity testing. The Lab Director, under the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), will manage daily operations, coordinate workflow, assist with operational planning, budgets, and workflow processes. Responsibilities include employee selection, training, performance evaluations, and employee relations. The role requires maintaining the highest professional standards for patient, physician, and community benefit, adhering to the ethics of Medical Technologists. This is a full-time, salary-exempt position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science plus four (4) years training and/or experience in high complexity testing.
• Must meet CLIA requirements for a high complexity Laboratory.
• Five (5) years’ experience in MLS role preferably in hospital setting.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferably in hospital setting.
• Nationally recognized certification as MLS (ASCP or equivalent).
• Washington State Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification.
• Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Managing, coordinating, and performing the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Laboratory operations.
• Assisting the CAO with the oversight and implementation of facility-related operational planning, budgets, and workflow processes.
• Employee selection, training, performance evaluations, and employee relations.
• Maintaining the highest standards of professional performance for the benefit of the patient, physician, and community, in accordance with the professional standards and ethics of Medical Technologists.
