Laboratory Automation Systems Intern

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine•Spring House, PA
•Onsite

About The Position

The Laboratory Automation Systems Intern will support a campus-wide initiative at Johnson & Johnson’s Spring House Campus to improve the visibility, documentation, and knowledge management of laboratory automation platforms. Working with Laboratory Operations, automation specialists, scientists, engineers, and IT/Digital partners, the intern will inventory and characterize automation systems, organize and reconcile technical information, and identify practical Large Language Model (LLM) use cases that improve access to automation-related knowledge. This 10–12 week internship runs from May to August 2027 and requires 40 hours per week. It provides hands-on exposure to laboratory automation, digital systems, technical data management, responsible AI, and cross-functional collaboration in a scientific laboratory environment. The intern will work under supervision and follow applicable laboratory safety, EH&S, cybersecurity, data-handling, responsible AI, access-control, and equipment-specific requirements.
