About The Position

Park Nicollet is hiring a Laboratory Assistant, Outreach Phlebotomist, to provide laboratory services and support patient care and client service. The position includes specimen collection, reception desk duties, ordering, scheduling and billing, laboratory testing, phlebotomy, dispatching, specimen processing and centrifuging, and delivering specimens to the appropriate laboratory or department. The Laboratory Assistant helps ensure efficient workflow and serves as a resource for hospital and clinic staff with questions about specimen handling and processing.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and ability to safely and legally operate Park Nicollet vehicles; may occasionally be required to drive a personal car.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work independently.
Good problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure patient safety.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet time-sensitive customer requests and respond to changes on short notice.

Nice To Haves

One year of phlebotomy experience.
ASCP certification for phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
