Laboratory Assistant - Part Time
About The Position
Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This is a part-time position with two 12-hour day shifts, totaling 24 scheduled weekly hours. The role involves phlebotomy, collecting, preparing, and processing biological specimens. The Laboratory Assistant will aid in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies, may be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results, and ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens.
- Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks.
- Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies.
- May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results.
- Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
