JOB TITLE: Laboratory Assistant – Science Initiative CASI Facility JOB PURPOSE: Serve as a research assistant in the CASI electron microscopy and X-ray facility by supporting instrument operation and training, and by assisting with routine tasks essential to daily and weekly operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be an enrolled UW student in good standing or a graduate with a bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, engineering or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- Previous research lab experience in biology, physics, chemistry, engineering or a related field
Responsibilities
- Assist with electron microscopy (EM) and X-ray instrument routine operation and maintenance
- Support daily laboratory operational tasks including inventory and resupply of consumables, liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas
- Completing or assisting with weekly operational, safety and instrument alignment procedures.
