About The Position

We are hiring multiple Laboratory Assistants for our state-of-the-art laboratories in North Vancouver. Apply for an invitation to join our team and play a key role in supporting our high-volume summer operations. The hiring process includes an initial screening call, a video interview submission, and a formal interview (virtual or in-person) with the hiring team. Successful candidates will receive an offer of employment.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 months laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or related field required
  • Strong analytical and mechanical skills
  • Excellent hand eye coordination
  • Detail oriented individual with a strong commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues
  • Intermediate English communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa.

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or Degree in Science preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample preparation – filtration, screening, extraction and digestion
  • Perform instrument/equipment calibration, maintenance and repair as required
  • Prepare all required reagents, standards, reference materials, etc
  • Carry out all required data processing (i.e. calculations, data review, data entry, archival, etc.)
  • General laboratory clean-up and maintenance, monitor controlled equipment
  • Adhere to established methods and protocols to ensure analytical quality
  • Observe safety regulations and comply with all relevant health and safety policies
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager

Benefits

  • Hourly Range - An estimated hourly pay ranging from $20.26 - $22.77 at the time of posting.
  • Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
  • Additional shift premiums of $2 per hour for evening shifts and $4 per hour for night shifts, if applicable.
