About The Position
This full-time Laboratory Assistant Advanced position is located at Atrium Health Levine Cancer in Charlotte, NC. The role involves accurately accessioning and registering specimens for processing and testing, maintaining high quality and productivity, and following designated procedures for labeling and processing. The assistant will also prepare solutions, reagents, and supplies, operate necessary laboratory equipment, and answer phone and paging systems as needed. The position adheres to College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements and involves working in a busy environment with potential exposure to biohazardous materials, chemicals, and other hazards. The role may require stooping, reaching, and lifting loads up to 50 pounds, as well as standing and walking for extended periods.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Works in a busy environment around physicians, technologists, and other hospital team members.
- Works in an area, which contains biohazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards.
- May be required to stoop, reach and lift light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.
- May be required to stand and or walk for extended periods of time.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in chemical, biological, or life sciences preferred.
- The ideal candidate would have previous lab experience.
Responsibilities
