Laboratory Assistant Advanced - Atrium Health Charlotte FT 2nd Shift
About The Position
This full-time Laboratory Assistant Advanced position is located at Carolinas Medical Center - Lab: Histology within Atrium Health in Charlotte. The role is responsible for accurately accessioning and registering specimens for processing and testing, maintaining high quality and productivity, and following designated procedures for labeling and processing. The assistant will sort and deliver specimens to technical areas, prepare solutions, reagents, and supplies, and operate necessary laboratory equipment. They will also answer the phone and paging system as needed and adhere to College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Works in a busy environment around physicians, technologists, and other hospital team members.
- Works in an area that contains biohazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards.
- May be required to stoop, reach and lift light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.
- May be required to stand and or walk for extended periods of time.

- Degree in chemical, biological, or life sciences preferred.
