About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Health Services, the Laboratory and Ancillary Services Manager leads the operations of ancillary medical services within the Student Wellness Center, including clinical laboratory and imaging services. The incumbent oversees compliance, accreditation, licensure, quality assurance, and daily operational functions for the laboratory and imaging departments. This position also supervises laboratory and imaging staff and works collaboratively across the Student Wellness Center to support student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent from an accredited institution; OR Equivalent post-secondary education, training and experience as defined by the California Division of Laboratory Science; OR Combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities
  • Possess and maintain a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative and technical work within a clinical laboratory
  • At least two (2) years of experience leading or managing a clinical laboratory, including quality management

Nice To Haves

  • At least two (2) years of experience leading accreditation and other regulatory standards and site visits
  • Demonstrated experience working within an integrated system supporting quality assurance processes for other ancillary departments (such as radiology)
  • Demonstrated position management experience, including recruitment, training, and position development

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for laboratory and imaging services
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, California Department of Public Health, and accreditation standards
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and operational protocols
  • Supervise laboratory and imaging staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Maintain quality assurance and quality improvement programs
  • Coordinate laboratory testing, specimen collection, processing, and reporting
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and campus partners to support high-quality student care
  • Serve as the laboratory representative during accreditation reviews, audits, and site visits
  • Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives within healthcare delivery and staffing practices
