This position serves as a central coordinator in a multi-department environment. Incumbents ensure more timely responses to client problems/questions. The Laboratory Administrator ensures all callers receive an appropriate response from his/her assigned lab areas, utilizing company values, vision, and mission, and maintaining a helpful and mature telephone presence. This role involves data entry, reagent storage, and managing associated paperwork. It also includes problem-solving activities such as handling small size samples, accessioning, or thawed samples, and data gathering to address specific issues. The position is responsible for pulling samples for studies and acting as a problem solver for test adds from lab services. Additionally, it involves performing monthly tallies of laboratory assays, reviewing them with the Director or Department Head, and forwarding reports to Medical Administration. The role includes maintaining laboratory libraries, preparing photocopies, performing clerical purchasing activities, and handling report retrieval and generation. It may also involve photocopying and binding documents for management and organizing/filing TRFs. The Laboratory Admin Assistant answers phones for assigned departments and performs other duties as assigned.
