About The Position

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its Seattle office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing employers in sophisticated employment litigation, workplace counseling, and labor and employment advisory matters.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of labor & employment experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience representing employers in employment litigation
  • Experience advising employers regarding employment law compliance
  • Experience handling matters arising under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the FMLA, the FLSA, the Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD), and other federal and state employment laws
  • Experience representing employers before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration forums
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Washington bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, and workplace policies is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Representing employers in sophisticated employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, restrictive covenant, and leave-related matters.
  • Advising employers regarding employment law compliance, workplace investigations, employee discipline, reductions in force, handbook and policy development, and day-to-day counseling.
  • Handling matters arising under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the FMLA, the FLSA, the Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD), and other federal and state employment laws.
  • Representing employers before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration forums.
  • Drafting and negotiating employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, and workplace policies.
  • Independently managing sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction.
