About The Position

A premier global law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its Seattle office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing innovative technology companies, emerging growth businesses, public companies, venture-backed companies, and other employers on sophisticated employment counseling and transactional matters.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of labor & employment experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience advising employers regarding day-to-day employment counseling, workplace policies, employee relations, hiring and terminations, and employment law compliance
  • Experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements, executive compensation arrangements, equity incentive plans, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, and employee handbooks
  • Experience supporting the labor and employment aspects of mergers & acquisitions, venture capital financings, private equity transactions, and corporate reorganizations
  • Experience handling employment due diligence, workforce integration, executive transitions, and employee classification issues
  • Experience advising clients regarding Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the FMLA, the FLSA, wage and hour laws, and Washington employment laws
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Washington bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Employment litigation experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Representing innovative technology companies, emerging growth businesses, public companies, venture-backed companies, and other employers on sophisticated employment counseling and transactional matters.
  • Advising employers regarding day-to-day employment counseling, workplace policies, employee relations, hiring and terminations, and employment law compliance.
  • Drafting and negotiating employment agreements, executive compensation arrangements, equity incentive plans, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, and employee handbooks.
  • Supporting the labor and employment aspects of mergers & acquisitions, venture capital financings, private equity transactions, and corporate reorganizations.
  • Handling employment due diligence, workforce integration, executive transitions, and employee classification issues.
  • Advising clients regarding Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the FMLA, the FLSA, wage and hour laws, and Washington employment laws.
