About The Position

California State University, Fullerton (Cal State Fullerton) invites you to join our Labor and Employee Relations team within the Division of Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence as a Labor/Employee Relations Manager (Administrator II). This is a pivotal role at one of the largest and most inclusive universities in California, supporting a campus community of over 43,000 students and thousands of faculty and staff. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Three years of experience in the area of Labor and/or Employee Relations.
  • Considerable knowledge of policies and practices involving personnel/human resources functions and demonstrated experience in the practical application of those practices in a complex organization.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
  • Regular attendance is considered an essential job function.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Public sector labor/employee relations experience in a higher education institution.
  • Experience working within the CSU system.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted and strategic advisor on all labor and employee relations matters to campus leadership, faculty, staff, and union representatives.
  • Provide interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Investigate workplace complaints and grievances.
  • Represent the University in coordination with the Chancellor's Office and University Counsel in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Design and deliver training programs on collective bargaining, employee relations, and workplace conduct.
  • Protect both employees and the institution that serves them.
