About The Position
This unit has 19 patient rooms, 6 PACU rooms, 6 triage rooms, and 3 L&D ORs. Staffing for the night shift is a matrix of 8-10, including 1 charge nurse, 7-9 RNs, and 1 CST. Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with 1:1 for complicated patients. The unit utilizes FHR monitors (Novii and GE) and fetal scalp electrodes. EMR systems used are CPN and Meditech. Typical procedures include vaginal deliveries and C-section deliveries. The role involves directing and coordinating all nursing care for labor and delivery patients, postpartum patients, and high-risk antepartum patients through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of current hospital Labor & Delivery experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification
- AWHONN or EFM certifications

Responsibilities
