About The Position

This is a 13-week, night shift contract position for an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and high-risk OB patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. The nurse will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, administer medications and therapies, collaborate with healthcare teams, educate patients and families, maintain accurate records, and participate in continuing education.

Requirements

Active RN or Compact license within the state of Indiana
Active Certifications Required: BLS & ACLS through the American Heart Association, NRP & STABLE also required.
2 years of recent and related experience, as required by the facility
2 years of recent experience circulating for C-sections
Must be able to work independently, yet together as part of a team
Must be able to remain calm under pressure
Active BLS, physical, TB test, and other medical compliance as required by the facility

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, & High risk OB patients in a fast-paced hospital setting during a 13-week contract Assignment.
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being through continuous assessment, Fetal Heart Monitoring, and timely interventions.
Administers medications, IV therapies, and assists with epidural procedures and treatments while ensuring patient safety and hospital procedures.
Collaborates with OB's, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, and interdisciplinary healthcare staff to coordinate patient care.
Educate and support patients and families throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care.
Maintain accurate patient records, respond to medical emergencies, and adhere to all clinical standards.
Arrive on time for scheduled shifts
Participate in continuing education and maintain documentation to remain in compliance.
