About The Position

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Labor & Delivery Team! This is a Flexi, Part-Time position. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The standards of professional performance encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty. Our Family Maternity Center has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for high-quality labor and delivery services and has received awards such as the NICU AACN Silver Beach Award for Excellence, the 2024 Lactation Team Daisy Award, and the 2024 IBCLC Care Award. Our team of physicians, midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, and volunteer doulas prioritize the patient's birthing experience, supported by award-winning facilities with private rooms and a Specialty Level 3 NICU.

Requirements

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
  • NRP within 6 months of hire
  • PALS within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous L & D experience preferred
  • RN-Associate’s Degree
  • RN-Bachelor’s Degree
  • RN-Diploma
  • RN-Master’s Degree

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Utilize the standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
  • Adhere to the standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Meet and maintain any requirements defined by specific clinical areas and specialty.
