About The Position

Label Operator Worker is an employee in the production department. This role is a member of our production team and is responsible to perform manual heavy labor needed to process with the highest standards of food quality. The employee is required to operate the label machine, box coder, sonic welder. The employee is required to notify any issues regarding food safety and general safety awareness.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate a manual pallet jack
  • Able to work in a cold wet environment 34-36 °F
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to work with fast changing priorities and keep up with workflow.
  • Work in a team effort environment.
  • Able to follow simple instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience of work in a similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Classic Salads Food Safety and GMP Policies, including Basic Policies (TRN-0101, TRN-102, TRN-103. TRN-104. TRN-105. TRN-1061.
  • Complete Classic Salads Standard Production Procedures
  • Use proper lifting and folding boxes techniques
  • Report all deficiencies to management.
  • Work overtime and weekends and holidays if necessary.
  • Move product and/or materials manually as required
  • Report all injuries and incidents big or small.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Report any foreign objects while performing duties to immediate supervisor.
  • Communicate with management and/or other employees
  • Be conscious to reduce material spoilage.
  • Work/cross train in other areas
  • Fold boxes continuously 1 lb to 3 lbs
  • Lift bags continuously 2 oz to 4 Lbs
  • Stack and lift boxes continuously 3 Lbs to 4 Lbs 5-6 boxes high
  • Keep work area clean
  • Rotate through all positions in the packing line
  • Lift finished product boxes continuously 3 lbs to 15 lbs
  • Stay in assigned work area
  • Stack and Lift raw and finished product containers/boxes 10-50 lbs continuously
  • Team lift garbage cans 10-70 lbs occasionally
  • Lift empty pallets 45-85 Lbs continuously
  • Sort and stack empty totes by color and size.
  • Wrap and palletize finished product
  • Mark cartons and label according to instructions
  • Communicate with data entry employees and machine operators
  • Follow directions regarding product mixes and recipes.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, eye protection (goggles), face shield, gloves, slip resistant shoes, wet/rain suit, apron etc.
  • Be aware of surroundings due to forklift traffic
  • If employee is authorized to drive a forklift by management, employee has to be certified by Classic Salads
  • With previous management authorization employee has to complete a daily forklift inspection report
  • With previous management authorization retrieve product from raw room use FIFO (first in first out) to keep appropriate product rotation.
  • With previous training employee is required to operate the box coder, label machine and sonic welder.
