The Lab Test Simulation Integration Engineer designs, develops, and integrates real-time simulation systems with aircraft hardware and software in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments. The role supports the development and production of Gulfstream aircraft by connecting simulation platforms, aircraft controllers, hardware, software, and communication interfaces so test engineers can evaluate system behavior and resolve problems in the lab. The engineer builds and integrates Simulink models; connects analog, discrete, data bus, and Ethernet interfaces; and creates automated test scripts, testing utilities, and lab support tools using Python or another high-level programming language. The position also involves interpreting aircraft and simulation electrical drawings, troubleshooting aircraft and lab-system issues, planning engineering work, developing technical approaches, and solving difficult problems within schedule and cost objectives. The role works directly with lab customers, test engineers, technical partners, and teams outside the immediate group. It supports improvements to lab processes and capabilities, keeps current with relevant simulation, test, and aircraft-system developments, and ensures work meets customer requirements. The position is based onsite in a lab environment in Savannah, Georgia, with up to 25% travel. It is a first-shift, full-time role.
