About The Position

This is a part-time role for a Lab Technician at SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection, and certification company. The technician will be responsible for preparing samples for analysis according to SGS's analytical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using basic instrumentation and analytical methodologies. The role also involves the routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of preparation instruments and equipment, inputting and maintaining technical information, and maintaining a laboratory notebook. Adherence to internal standards, policies, and procedures is required, along with performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, seed or biological laboratory, or prior experience working with one’s hands.
• High School Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
