About The Position

WSP is currently seeking a Part Time Assistant Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support various projects in the Atlanta, GA area. This role involves performing lab classification and index property testing of soils, density testing of soils, and sampling and testing concrete in the field and lab. The technician will also perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing data, and monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications. The position requires travel within and around 2 hours of the city and demands proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. The ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet business objectives is essential. Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools is required. A proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies is necessary. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs. Competent interpersonal and communication skills are required for effective and professional interaction with both engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 0-2 years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
• Ability to work in variable outside conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Nice To Haves

• Certifications might include a combination of ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry.
