About The Position

Prepares and installs candidate tire/wheel assemblies for testing on MTS Flatrac® Tire Test Systems and TMSI On-Level Test Systems. Conducts tests and records results for customer use. The position also maintains tire inventory records, coordinates shipping and receiving, and performs daily maintenance checks and other maintenance activities as required. Provides support across Smithers departments as directed by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Maintain tire inventory records and coordinate shipping and receiving.
• Work with other Flatrac® technicians or staff to resolve operational or procedural issues involving specifications, test conditions, and test duration.
• Coordinate and participate in installing tire/wheel assemblies for testing, including connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic and mechanical components, cabling, tubing, power sources, and indicating instruments.
• Activate test system controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and run the tire through successive test-cycle steps.
• Monitor controls and instruments and record test data for customer use.
• Perform daily maintenance checks and participate in maintenance activities as required.
• Provide support in all Smithers departments as directed by management.
