Vertex Fall Co-op 2026, Lab Systems Engineering

Vertex PharmaceuticalsBoston, MA
$20 - $35Onsite

About The Position

The Vertex Lab Systems Engineering Co-Op program is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards an undergraduate or advanced degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Hard (Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering) Sciences, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or other related fields. This co-op role within DTE – RPMS Lab Solutions will support the exploration and design of a unified approach to tracking laboratory assets and lab software across the enterprise. The role focuses on improving visibility into where lab assets (PCs, software, cybersecurity coverage, instruments, and modular components) are located, how they are used, and how both physical and digital assets move through their lifecycle. The co-op will work on a project-oriented assignment that evaluates IoT-enabled asset tracking solutions alongside centralized lab software procurement and usage data. By integrating these perspectives, the role aims to improve operational efficiency, support compliance and audit readiness, and enable more informed sourcing and investment decisions. Work may leverage vendor solutions to prototype concepts, analyze data, and document recommendations for future-state solutions.
