About The Position

Saint Luke's is seeking a phlebotomist/lab support technician who is confident in their skills, patient-focused, positive, and willing to go above and beyond for their patients and peers. Phlebotomy experience is preferred, but not required. We are looking for professionals who like to multi-task and stay busy, and able to adapt to rapidly changing laboratory workflow. This is a part-time position with two 12-hour shifts (5:00 AM - 5:30 PM) including rotating weekends and holidays. The role is 50% phlebotomy and 50% specimen processing.

Requirements

Less than 1 year of applicable experience
Laboratory Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology Diploma

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.
Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.
Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required.
Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.
Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
