About The Position

Laboratory Supervisor Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with work hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The Lab Department offers a collaborative and teamwork-driven environment with excellent mentorship and leadership resources. It is a fast-paced and high-volume laboratory with an extensive test menu for a wide range of testing platforms.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Biological or Clinical Science required Or Bachelor’s Degree MUST have 24 semester hours of science courses with 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, medical lab technology in any combination.
5 years under the director of an MT or Pathologist.
MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist Upon Hire Or MLS - Medical Lab Scientist Upon Hire Or CT(ASCP) upon hire Or HTL(ASCP) upon hire
Other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology Upon Hire required

Nice To Haves

2 years leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversees work schedules and personnel assignments for the department
Reviews abnormal results
Checks outstanding tests list in a timely manner
Resolves quality control discrepancies before releasing patient results
Recognizes and diffuses crisis situations, including complaints from physicians, nurses, other hospital personnel, patients and/or their families, and co-workers.
Complies with lab and section/cost center guidelines, procedures, and policies
