About The Position

Pathology Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and managing the activities of phlebotomy staff to ensure high-quality specimen collection, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • Five years phlebotomy experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • ASCP/ASPT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluates phlebotomy personnel.
  • Provide training, onboarding, and ongoing competency assesments.
  • Processes specimens accurately (orders tests and provides documentation) adhering to laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper blood collection techniques and specimen handling.
  • Provides effective communication and if needed feedback with staff members about laboratory issues.
  • Develops and maintains quality standards and monitors procedures in conformance with requirements of accrediting agencies.
  • Ensure positive patient interactions and satisfaction.
  • Address patient concerns or complaints.
  • Oversees workflow, staffing levels, and productivity.
