About The Position

The Lab Specimen Processor supports Northwestern Medicine’s patient-first mission and complies with the organization’s Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program, policies, procedures, guidelines, and applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. The role is responsible and accountable for receiving, processing, labeling, and distributing specimens, and performing non-high complexity testing as required. It requires a thorough understanding of laboratory specimens and HIS/LIS computer systems. The Processor also performs customer service and other clerical duties as the job dictates.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, third-shift position at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Maintain organization of work while multitasking.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Thorough understanding of laboratory specimens and HIS/LIS computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, label, and distribute specimens.
• Perform non-high complexity testing as required.
• Perform customer service duties and other clerical duties as the job dictates.
